The YouWiN! business plan competition offered training and financial support to individuals wanting to start a new business or expand an existing one. This report evaluates the impact of YouWin!, finding that the competition had large positive effects on the rate of business start-up, survival of existing firms, employment, profits and sales of winning firms.
