Nigeria Diaspora Study

This study was conducted to understand the potential to engage the diaspora in order to generate productive investments and resources for development in Nigeria. Dalberg looked at three models of engagement, focusing primarily on the first two: (i) remittances from the diaspora to Nigeria, (ii) direct investments into Nigeria made by the diaspora, and (iii) the diaspora’s promotion of investment in Nigeria.

 

 

Automating Form NXP

Through its Non-Oil Exporters Dialogues, the Nigerian Export Proceeds (NXP) Form was identified as a challenge. This was further identified in a study, Exporter Experience Study, commissioned by the workstream.  The problems with the NXP forms ranged from unavailability of the form to a lack of capacity within financial institutions to handle processing of the form as required for export documentation. The TRD Workstream engaged with the EBES on this issue and got commitment to automate the form, which despite the CBN stipulated timeline for processing by authorized dealers of 48 hours had not been happening.

 

Programme Completion Report

Policy Development Facility Phase II (PDF II) was a flexible, rapid-response facility set up to support Champions of Change in implementing economic and social policies that help reduce poverty in Nigeria. Funded with UK aid from the UK government, PDF II’s goal was to provide Champions of Change with improved capacity and evidence to help them pursue vital economic and social reforms.

As the successor to PDF, PDF II began operations on 1 April 2015 and ran for five years, ending on 31 March 2020.

Exploring Export Business Opportunities in the Post COVID Era

The Network of Practicing Non-Oil Exporters of Nigeria (NPNEN) collaborated with PDF Bridge to bring a 90-minutes training on ‘Exploring Export Business Opportunities in the Post-COVID Era’. This training was delivered by Mr. Bamidele Ayemibo, a trustee of NPEN and an International Trade Expert.
